Romania confirms over 400 outbreaks of ASF in December

According to reporting in Stiripesurse, the outbreaks include multiple commercial pig farming facilities. However, Romanian animal health authorities report that the number of active infections is lower than November’s totals.

Nearly 200,000 pigs have been slaughtered this year as part of biosecurity measures to contain the virus. Affected pig farmers have been compensated for the loss.
